Former Garmin and Timex marketing exec Stan Brajer has joined sports tech manufacturer Polar as U.S. sales and marketing senior VP.
In his new role, Brajer will oversee the strategic direction of Polar’s sales and marketing function for its consumer products, sports tech ecosystem and B-to-B solutions, the company said.
“Stan’s deep expertise and knowledge of the sports, fitness and retail industries enhances and complements an already strong Polar leadership team,” said Mark Hogenboom, global commercial sales and marketing director.
Indeed, Brajer joins Polar from Timex, where he was U.S. sports sales VP; before that served as Garmin’s fitness sales and marketing director; and earlier ran app developer Pegasus Sports Performance as CEO.
Privately-held Polar is based near Oulu, Finland, with U.S. headquarters in Lake Success, N.Y. The nearly 40-year-old business produces cycling computers, wearable sports devices, activity trackers, training apps and related online services, which are sold through more than 35,000 retailers worldwide.
