Italy At CES 2026: Pioneering The Future Of Mobility

Italy is ensuring that the future of transportation is as efficient as it is inspiring

The showroom floor at CES 2026 became a vibrant stage for Italian innovation, where tradition meets the cutting edge of the “agentic era.” Represented by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Italian Association of the Automotive Industry (ANFIA), a delegation of Italy’s brightest minds showcased how they’re redefining the global mobility landscape.

From Vision to Virtual Reality

Leading the charge in advanced engineering, Pininfarina highlighted its state-of-the-art wind tunnel facility. As electric vehicles (EVs) dominate the market, aerodynamics have become critical for reducing drag and increasing range. Pininfarina’s facility doesn’t just measure wind; it uses Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and aeroacoustics testing to eliminate noise in nearly silent EVs. Its expertise is now expanding beyond cars to motorcycles, trucks, and even drones.

Technology Beyond the Product

For companies like Eldor USA, CES was about more than just hardware—it was about providing the technological soul of the vehicle. Its solutions span the entire spectrum from internal combustion engines to full electric systems. Meanwhile, researchers from Politecnico di Milano are proving that high-tech mobility can also be high-heart. Their project, “Sharing for Caring,” featured a low-speed autonomous shuttle designed specifically for fragile populations in small mountain towns where traditional transportation is limited.

A Global Partnership

The message from the Italian pavilion was clear: Italy is a powerhouse of advanced technology and a prime partner for international investment. By bridging the gap between innovative design and industrial processes, these companies are looking to exchange know-how with U.S. partners to create vehicles that are “completely different from what a car used to be.”

Whether it’s autonomous shuttles for social good or world-class aerodynamic testing, Italy is ensuring that the future of transportation is as efficient as it is inspiring. Watch the full video here.
