Capitol, the national distributor serving residential systems and light commercial contractors and premium incentive resellers, has added 30-plus-year telcom vet — and former customer — Scott Goldsborough to its tech-sales team.
Goldsborough was a co-founder and co-manager of GTS, an interconnect company that sold Panasonic telephone systems. Prior to that he held posts at Mitel and NCS, and also ran his own retail business called Fones-2-Own.
In his new role he will serve as a telecom tech support and sales specialist, further sharpening Capitol’s focus on home and business products for that category.
“Like so many of our customers, Scott is a true entrepreneur [who] built his business from the ground up,” said Capitol president and chief financial officer Curt Hayes. “Scott had a front-row seat for the emergence of IP in telecom, and he’s able to use his knowledge and experience on the front line to our customers’ benefit.”
“I was a Capitol customer long before joining the team,” noted Goldsborough. “When everyone else was paying little attention to telephony over IP, Capitol was a big proponent of the opportunities for dealers and installers to increase profitability through this important category.”
