Don’t Adjust Your Dial — Mind-Control Tech Gets Real

Mind-control technology has been in the news lately, with at least two different companies debuting headsets that use brainwaves to control computers.

The first company, InteraXon, demoed a prototype of a thought-controlled in-flight entertainment system. The system is meant to help travelers relax via a meditation trainer (certainly useful for nervous fliers) or improve their golf game (useful until the guy next to you becomes enraged and tries to mentally smash his five-iron).

The other company, Emotiv, capitalizes on geekdom with its Jedi Mind headset, letting users play a variety of PC games using their minds instead of controllers. You know all those stories about people becoming so involved in their life-simulator games that they completed neglect their real lives? They’re going to love this.
