Riverside,
Calif. – Proficient Audio
expects to ship its first A/V receiver (AVR) in September.
The
$1,250-suggested M80, now in production, will join a two-channel stereo receiver
and a six-zone 12-channel stereo receiver, which was launched
in 2007 with dual AM/FM tuners and packaged with six in-wall keypads.
The company
also offers in-ceiling, in-wall, on-wall and outdoor speakers as well as
subwoofers, a stereo receiver, and other multi-room audio electronics. With the
M80 launch, “we’re now the only company that can deliver a single-brand
component solution for residential custom-installed audio,” Proficient
president Keith Marshall claimed.
The M80 AVR features
DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD decoding, four HDMI inputs, Faroudja DCDi Cinema video
processing, 7×130-watt high-current Class AB amplifier, line outputs to add on
larger amps and an optional iPod dock. The AVR features a cast aluminum
faceplate.
The device will
be displayed at next month’s CEDIA Expo.
