Issaquah, Wash. — Costco said same-store sales of CE products were “flattish” in June, compared with a 6 percent increase in total company comps.
The commentary accompanied the No. 1 warehouse club’s monthly sales report, which showed a 10 percent increase in total June sales, to $10.9 billion year over year.
Average ticket was up about 2.5 percent and traffic rose nearly 4 percent, with the Southeast and Midwest showing the strongest sales results.
The reporting period covered the five weeks ended July 6.
Costco ranks sixth on TWICE’s Top 100 CE Retailers Report and currently operates 658 warehouses, including 465 in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Five new locations are planned for this summer.
