ProSource Meets With Asian Suppliers

Fort Worth, Texas — ProSource has concluded a successful series of vendor meetings in Asia.

On the trip, representatives of the specialty CE and custom integration division of the BrandSource buying group held strategic planning sessions with Harman International, D&M, Pioneer, Samsung and LG.

ProSource members and executive management provided vendors with feedback on product features and functionality. Discussions focused on the evolution of multiroom wireless audio and its impact on the legacy categories of speakers and receivers, as well as OLED and UHD display technologies and the expectations for pricing and unit growth into next year.

“We are the only buying group that currently prioritizes a trip to Asia with members of its product committees to visit our suppliers,” noted ProSource co-president/COO Dave Workman. “We feel it is extremely important to have the specialists’ voice in the room as it relates to product design and technology to balance out the feedback which is taken from the national accounts.”

Other ProSource representatives included co-president Jim Ristow and Expert Warehouse staffer Scott Zitter, as well as group members Scott Anderson, Tim Freeman and Tommy Kinstle of Crutchfield; Bob Cole of World Wide Stereo; Kevin Luskin of The Big Screen Store; and David Glassman from IQ Home Entertainment.

ProSource, comprised of the former Home Entertainment Source (HES) and PRO Group buying organizations, represents more than 500 dealers and custom integrators with combined retail sales of over $3.1 billion.
