RICHARDSON, TEXAS – ZTE brought its second mobile Wi-Fi hot spot/video projector to the U.S. market via an exclusive distribution deal with AT&T.
The ZTE Spro 2 at AT&T joins the ZTE LivePro at Sprint. Both feature LTE.
The Spro 2, available April 24, is AT&T’s first smart projector. It is priced at $399 with a two-year contract or $499 without contract through select AT&T stores and the carrier’s website.
The second-generation device is the first Android smart projector to feature autofocus and auto keystone correction, ZTE said. Compared with the Sprint model, the new model also has a larger battery, brighter projection, higher display resolution, an easier to use interface, Android 4.4.4 vs. 4.2, and a 5-inch touchscreen compared with 4 inches.
The Spro 2 lets users connect up to 10 independent Wi-Fi devices at once to the AT&T LTE network. Via an LTE connection, the device streams and projects content through Google Play apps and from other Cloud sources. It also streams and projects content from connected game consoles, USB sticks, MicroSD cards and other mobile devices. Because it is batterypowered and projects content from memory-storage devices and from the Cloud, users can project video and presentations without connecting to a laptop.
The Spro 2 projects 1,280 by 720 images up to 120 inches with 200-lumen brightness. It comes with a 6,300 mAh lithium polymer battery for up to 2.5 hours of media streaming and up to 16 hours of connectivity. The Spro 2 is 1.5 inches thick and comes with 16GB internal storage, 64GB MicroSD card slot and Bluetooth.
