More than 110 Microsoft stores in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada will celebrate the Oct. 26 launch of the Surface Book notebook and Surface Pro 4 tablet with a series of in-store events that include food, beverages and music.
At 10 stores, celebrations on Monday and Tuesday will include appearances by NFL players, while some stores on Monday will also host an in-store breakfast focusing on the Surface Pro 4. Those stores are inviting mobile professionals, small-business owners and other to participate in hands-on demos.
Consumers who pre-ordered the Surface devices at select stores will, if they are among the first to pick them up on Monday, get a gift bag that includes a t-shirt, a Surface sticker, an 8GB USB stick, and an accessory carrying pouch to carry the Surface notebook or tablet.
The products were announced earlier this month and marked the launch of Microsoft’s first Microsoft-brand notebook. The 13.5-inch laptop is a convertible laptop whose screen also detaches. The machined-magnesium laptop starts at $1,499.
The fourth-generation Surface Pro tablet gets a slightly larger screen size at 12.3 inches, more RAM and storage, a new pen, and thinner design with a starting price of $899, up from the Pro 3’s starting price of $799.
