Vivint Opens New State-of-the-Art Central Monitoring Center

EAGAN, Minn.–Vivint, a leading provider of smart home technology, today announced the opening of its new state-of-the-art central monitoring center in Eagan, Minnesota. Positioned in the Twin Cities metro area, the upgraded facility houses 140 local employees who provide 24/7/365 security monitoring for nearly one million Vivint customers.

The upgraded monitoring center fulfills a promise made by Vivint Founder and CEO Todd Pedersen earlier this year while participating on the award-winning CBS reality series, “Undercover Boss.” While in disguise on the show, Todd experienced firsthand the needs of the Vivint employees who staff the busy monitoring center.

“Our monitoring team plays a major role in our company by helping our customers through extremely stressful situations,” said Pedersen. “This upgraded facility delivers on the promise to provide our employees with a unique and comfortable work environment. We’re looking forward to being a contributing member of the Eagan community.”

Replacing an old facility located in South St. Paul, the new Vivint monitoring center better aligns with the company’s brand and culture, including walls of windows for natural light, standing workstations, a gaming area, a cafe with free lunch, a fitness center, putting green and picnic areas. The campus includes a mile-long walking trail and a large pond for recreational activities, including fishing and ice-skating. The building also includes all new furniture, equipment, and the latest multimedia technology for conference and training rooms.

One of the main advantages of a Vivint security and smart home system is round-the-clock monitoring and support. Employees in this Vivint monitoring center respond to medical, fire, flood, carbon monoxide and burglary alerts with an average response time of 10 seconds.

The award-winning Vivint monitoring station received a Silver Stevie Award for Customer Service Department of the Year in 2014, selected from 1,500 organizations of all sizes across multiple industries. In 2012, the Vivint monitoring station team received the Central Station Alarm Association’s (CSAA) Central Station of the Year award.
