Samsung 105” Curved UHD TV Hits Market

Ridgefield Park, N.J. — Samsung Electronics America said it is now taking orders on its 105-inch curved Ultra HD LED LCD TV.

Samsung model UN105S9W carries a $119,999 suggested retail and will be built to order, the company said.

Samsung will support each sale with its Samsung Elite Service, which sends Samsung field engineers to the home of each customer to fully explain the features of the TV and optimize it for the best viewing experience.

“We continue to set the bar as the UHD market leader by delivering the best picture quality, design and most immersive viewing experiences in home entertainment,” said Joe Stinziano, Samsung executive VP. “The introduction and availability of our new 105-inch curved UHD TV represents our unremitting efforts to reshape TV, driven by consumers’ passion for entertainment. Made for the premium entertainment lover, the 105-inch Curved UHD TV features the most advanced technology and design, a massive movie-theater style UHD screen and a curve that creates the ultimate cinematic experience.”

The UN105S9W offers 5,120 by 2,160 resolution (11 million pixels) and provides a cinematic aspect ratio, Samsung’s Auto Depth Enhancer technology, and Samsung’s proprietary UHD Dimming and Precision Black high-black-level picture-processing technologies.

The set also has a Quad Screen Multi-Link feature that produces four windows on screen to access live TV, streaming video and the web all at once.

Other features include Samsung’s smart-TV platform with a five-panel Smart Hub design powered by a quad-core processor.

The set design features a metallic frame and super-narrow bezel, accenting the curved screen. The clean back panel features a distinctive wood finish and curvature design.

The set, which comes with a floor stand, can be wall mounted with a special optional wall bracket.

Samsung UHD TVs support both current and developing standards, using the Samsung UHD Evolution Kit.

A One Connect Box housing the brains of the TV externally enables customers to switch out the box with a new updated one in the UHD Evolution Kit (sold separately). The approach helps customers “protect their investment for many years to come,” the company said.
