Sprint Keeps The Rate Cuts Coming

Sprint is pressing down harder on the rate-cut gas pedal.

For the second time, the carrier is extending a promotion offering 50 percent off almost all of the current postpaid-rate plans published by Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile to consumers who switch to Sprint. Sprint also pays switching fees up to $650 per line.

The half-off promotion launched late last year and was later extended to Feb. 11.

On top of that, the company on Friday is launching a limited-time promotion in which families can get four lines of unlimited talk, text and high-speed data for $37.50 per line, excluding the cost of a phone, for a total of $150/month, down from a regular $250/month.

The plan also features 3GB of mobile hotpot access and global roaming with unlimited 2G data speeds and text messaging in select countries.

The promotion counters a similar promotion launched by T-Mobile in early February.

The new plan looks like this:

Limited-Time Unlimited Promotion

–First line for $75

–2 lines for $120

–3 lines for $150

–4th line: free

–Lines 5-10: $30 per line

That compares to the regular unlimited plan below:

Regular Unlimited Pricing

–First line for $70

–2 lines for $130

–3 lines for $190

–4 lines for $250

“Sprint is going to continue to offer the best value for unlimited plans for our customers,” said CEO Marcelo Claure.

Here’s how Sprint says its unlimited plan promotion stacks up against the competition:
