World Wide Stereo Turns Up The Volume

World Wide Stereo, the acclaimed Philadelphia-area A/V specialty and custom-installation chain, has opened a second distribution center after outgrowing its original facility.

The new 13,000-square-foot DC, located near the company’s recently remodeled showroom in Montgomeryville, Pa., features three loading docks and can accommodate tractor-trailers of any size, founder/president Bob Cole said.

Loading-dock capacity had been a limiting factor at World Wide’s original warehouse, he noted.

Cole said the new facility’s added storage and greater efficiencies will further raise customer service levels, support all aspects of the business, and will be rapidly monetized.

“Bringing this project to fruition was such a magnificent team effort,” he noted.

The praise extended to the DC’s landlord, who purchased his first car audio system from World Wide in the early 1980s and has remained a loyal customer since.

Cole, a trained clinical psychologist, blues guitar player, and self-professed former hippie, founded the three-store, ProSource chain 37 years ago under the credo “Doing well by doing good.” He pursues that doctrine through philanthropic efforts, an inclusive management style, and by the very nature of his products and services, which can help bring families together, he said.
