hhgregg Adds Vizio TVs, Displays And Soundbars

Updated!hhgregg has added Vizio to its A/V assortment.

The multiregional CE, appliance and home-furnishings chain has begun carrying Vizio’s competitively priced TVs, 4K Ultra HD displays and soundbars at all 220 retail stores and at hhgregg.com, effective today.

The retailer said the assortment includes smart TVs and displays from 24 to 70 inches. The initial rollout will be limited to Vizio’s entry-level D- and E-Series, to which the company will add the mid-tier M-Series online.  It would not confirm whether the premium P-Series or top-of-the-line Reference Series will eventually join the lineup, except to say that “the assortment will continue to evolve.”

“Over the years, more and more customers have communicated that they wish we sold Vizio TVs. We heard them and are excited to now offer this best-in-class brand,” marketing senior VP Chris Sutton said.

Founded by computer display wiz William Wang, Vizio entered the U.S. TV market 13 years ago as a disruptive tier-3 importer of sharply-priced but well-spec’d plasma displays and DVD players. After launching at Costco, it went on to span the mass-merchant channel with prominent placements at Walmart and later Best Buy.

More recently it entered the ultra-premium segment with its limited-distribution Reference Series, and was acquired last summer by Chinese tech and media company LeEco.
