Xerox Bows Low-Cost Photo Scanner

Pleasonton, Calif. — Xerox will ship a flatbed photo scanner to dealers this month.

The Xerox 7600 scans at 1,200 by 1,200 dpi in 48-bit color. It draws power from a computer’s USB port and weighs 3.3 pounds. It also features a hinged lid for scanning oversized objects.

The Xerox 7600The scanner uses Visioneer’s OneTouch scanning technology for single-button scanning, with dedicated buttons for scan, copy, OCR, email and a custom function.

The $99 7600 scanner will be bundled with Nuance PaperPort 11 SE and ArcSoft PhotoImpression 5.0 software.

Visioneer has been manufacturing Xerox-branded scanners since 2003
