Targus Debuts Cases For BlackBerry Tablet

Anaheim, Calif. – Targus today
announced it has become a member of the Built for BlackBerry program and will
roll out products for the upcoming Blackberry PlayBook tablet. 

Targus’ initial Built for
BlackBerry products include the Truss leather and Truss nylon case/stand. The
Truss cases provide a dual solution, acting as a carrying case and hands-free
viewing stand.

The leather Truss will be
available in three color schemes: black with blue interior, black with a black
interior, and brown with an orange interior at a suggested retail of $44.99.

The Nylon Truss will be available
in black with a red interior for $34.99.

Also new is the portfolio-style
Zierra leather case, which adds pockets for accessories. It will be available
in black with a burgundy interior, and red with brown interior, at a  suggested $54.99.

Research In Motion’s Built for
BlackBerry program offers technical, strategic and marketing support to
accessories vendors.

“Collaborating with RIM as part
of the Built for BlackBerry program allows Targus to take a more streamlined
approach to designing accessories specifically for the new BlackBerry PlayBook
tablet,” said Al Giazzon, marketing VP at Targus. “We are excited to bring our versatile,
yet fashionable cases to this highly anticipated new mobile device.”

RIM has not formally announced
the release date or any other release details for its

first
tablet device

, but rumors circulating point to a likely late March/early
April launch date.
