Skype Files For IPO

Luxembourg - Skype
has filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed IPO.

The number of
shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been
determined, the company said.

Skype's VoIP
technology is available for use on Wi-Fi and 3G cellular networks on many
cellular smartphones
, including Verizon Wireless phones, unlocked Nokia
phones in the U.S., and (through third-party apps) Apple's iPhone.

The joint global
coordinators will be Goldman, Sachs & Co.; J.P. Morgan Securities; and Morgan
Stanley & Co.
