Los Angeles — Saitek Industries announced the availability of the wireless, rechargeable Obsidian mouse, the newest addition to the company’s line of PC mice.

Designed to complement any home or office environment, the Obsidian features 2.4 GHz wireless technology for interference-free performance while providing a “coolness” to any computer setup with a “cutting edge” design, said the company. It features a touch-sensitive scroll; optical technology for high-speed, ultra-accurate tracking; and highly tactile materials.

The plug-and-play mouse comes with two lithium-ion battery packs — one for use and one that charges while not in use — and it features 1,000 dpi optical, internal weights and Teflon feet to ensure a smooth controlled glide no matter what the surface. The mouse was also designed with comfort in mind so the left, right and center buttons, and Internet forward and backward buttons, are on both sides to suit left- or right-handed people.

The Obsidian has a suggested retail of $49.95 and will be available for purchase through Saitek’s online store at It works with Windows XP, 2000, XP64 and Vista or Mac OS X.
