PRO/MediaRECOVER Ink Exclusive Distribution Deal

2/20/2003 10:29:00 AM Eastern

New York - Photographic Research Organization (PRO) announced an exclusive distribution deal with MediaRECOVER to sell that company's Image Recovery Software for Windows.

The software is available at PRO dealers now for a suggested retail price of $39.95. PRO is a cooperative owned by independent specialty photo retailers.

MediaRECOVER is a digital image/data recovery program for retrieving lost files on removable media used in digital cameras, PDA's, etc. The software can recover data from SmartMedia, CompactFlash, Memory Stick, MicroDrive, Flash Card, Multimedia Card, Secure Digital Card, Zip Disks as well as hard drives. If a user has accidentally deleted or formatted their media, this program can recover the lost data, even if the media has become corrupted. The software will not write to the media, but stores the recovered files in a user-defined location on a computer.

If images, videos, or audio files have been deleted or if the digital media has been formatted or pulled out during a write process, the software can reconstruct the corresponding data automatically.

MediaRECOVER can also repair files that are unusable due to corruption from the card being pulled out while the camera is on or from turning the camera off during a write process.

The software will retrieve the following file types, JPEG, EXIF, TIFF, PNG, GIF, BMP, RAW, Canon CRW, Nikon NEF, Kodak DCR, and video file types AVI, MOV, MPG/MPEG.
