Center Valley, Pa. -- Olympus
released Wednesday a version 1.2 firmware update for the XZ-1 camera.
The update adds picture horizontal/vertical
picture orientation to the camera menu, enabling it to record which way the
image was oriented when captured, so in playback, the orientation of an image
can be rotated by using the control ring.
The desired orientation is then saved in the Exif portion of the
image file. The function is user selectable.
To download and install the update, XZ-1 owners should launch the
Olympus [ib] software and connect the camera via USB cable to an internet
