Libertyville, Ill. – Motorola
will launch a special Family Edition of its 16GB Wi-Fi Xoom tablet through Best
Buy stores and BestBuy.com on Oct. 26 for a limited-time price of $379.
The Android 3.1 tablet will be
preloaded with almost $40 worth of applications, including Zoodles, which lets
parents restrict kids’ access to only select content, such as educational games
and kid-appropriate movies.
A MotoPack application lets users
find Android Market apps that Motorola tested to ensure what it called “an
exceptional experience.”
The tablet also handles a
parent’s business needs, including email access, document editing, tabbed web
browsing and Adobe Flash Player, said Jim Hamilton, Motorola Mobility corporate
VP for global retail and distribution.
