San Francisco – Seven Volvo models will feature Dolby Pro Logic II decoding in model year 2005, up from three in model year 2004, Dolby Labs announced.
The four new models are the Volvo S60, Volvo S80, Volvo V70, and the Volvo XC70 Cross Country. They are already on the market. The Volvo XC90, S40 and V50 continue to offer the technology in model year 2005.
On these models’ dashboards, the Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound logo appears.
The Dolby Pro Logic II matrix technology delivers five full-bandwidth channels of surround sound playback from two-channel sources. The Volvo systems will also decode select programs delivered by Sirius Satellite Radio in DPL II format.
