San Diego – Entry-level PC maker Lindows rolled out an all-in-one PC under its new KooBox brand line.
The initial KooBox roll out consists of two units, a basic version that features a 14.1-inch LCD monitor, 1.2GHz AMD Duron processor, 256MB of SDRAM, CD-ROM drive, Ethernet networking and two empty drive bays. The suggested retail is $449.
The step up KooBox Deluxe has an AMD XP 2000 processor, rated at about 1.6GHz, a 60GB hard drive, 512MB of SDRAM, DVD-ROM and CD-RW drives, surround sound, 200-watt speakers and a $669 suggested retail price.
The PCs are now available from www.lindows.com. The company also sells hardware and software through Walmart, Fry’s Electronics and Tigerdirect.com
Like all Lindows PCs, the KooBoxes use a version of the Linux operating system called Lindows. The company claims there are about 1,500 software titles that run on Lindows. The PC comes pre-loaded with Lindows Office Suite.
