Key Digital Ships Distribution Amp

Mount Vernon, N.Y. — Key Digital Systems has introduced its KD-CDA3 small-scale audio/video distribution amplifier.

The unit, which is targeted at home entertainment, studio and business applications, will interface HDTV/SDTV audio/video sources to up to three independent video displays and sound systems.

The KD-CDA3, which is shipping now with a $350 suggested retail, was designed to multiply crystal-clear, color-rich, artifact-free, HDTV and SDTV images. It accepts any analog source input (DVD player, electronic game box, set-top receiver, digital video recorder or VCR) in any video format, and drives up to three separate analog-input displays.

Video distribution is ported over component (YPbPr) or RGBHV, up to 1,080p and 300 MHz, and is adaptable for composite and S-Video SDTV applications.

Audio is handled as analog stereo or digital (PCM). The KD-CDA3 supports cables up to 300 feet and is said to be expandable for future applications.
