Baldwin Park, Calif. — External hard-drive provider INOi has introduced a solution mating a 300GB drive with composite video and audio/video outputs for playing downloaded content through a television.
The HV355-300 works as a portable media storage system. It stores downloaded programming, via a USB 2.0 connection, and is then moved over to the television where it is connected via the component video or conventional audio/video inputs. The 7,200
rpm drive supports PC, NTFS and NTSC file systems and comes with a remote to control the drive while it is connected to the television.
The drive, which can also be used as a traditional external PC hard drive, is available online from Tiger Direct and NewEgg.com with a $299 suggested retail price.
