Griffin Technology Announces 3 iPod Cases

4/16/2007 01:19:00 PM Eastern

Nashville, Tenn. — Griffin Technology announced three new additions to its iPod case lineup.

The Courier includes separate, detachable cases for video iPods and second-generation iPod nanos. A user can slip the device into its case, and then slip it into the Courier carrier. When the user takes the device out, the iPod stays inside its own protective case.

The Courier is designed around an adjustable wrap that hugs the carrying strap of a backpack or shoulder bag, designed to keep an iPod and all its accessories up front. Users can wrap the Courier in two ways: open for easy access at a glance, or closed for anonymity and protection. Room is available in Courier's pockets for cables, headphones or adapters. It is currently available for $29.99 suggested retail.

Other features include a universal strap attachment fits all shoulder bag and backpack straps, leather/Cordura construction and reflective trim for night safety.

The Tempo armband ($14.99 suggested retail) for second-generation iPod Shuffles is engineered around a band of micro-membrane elastic fiber that is meant to make it comfortable and durable. An easy-grip finemold TPR rubber tip makes the armband easy to adjust, and an industrial-strength hook and loop closure gives Tempo an infinitely-adjustable fit that stays put while running or working out, said the company.

It is machine washable and has an integrated cord-wrap to prevent cable tangles. It also features reflective trim for night safety, and it comes in black or gray.

The iVault aluminum case for iPod nano is described by the company as “a full metal jacket” for a first- and second-generation iPod nanos. Users can slip a nano inside and snap the iVault closed around it. The two halves of iVault's case are held together with tiny but very strong magnets, said the company, and an integrated cover protects both screen and click wheel. Available in metallic silver finish, the iVault has a $24.99 suggested retail.
