Former Philips, Go-Video Exec, Ralph Palaia Dies At 51

Scottsdale, Ariz.- Ralph Palaia, 51, former Philips and Sensory Science executive, died late last month.

According to a report in Television Digest, Palaia died of heart-related complications. He entered the consumer electronics industry in the mid-1980s as an executive with Philips, formed MGN Technology in the late 1980s, a company that specialized in TV/VCR combos. Palaia rejoined Philips a second time in the early 1990s, eventually becoming senior VP of sales and marketing.

He moved to Scottsdale and joined Go-Video's board and formed a consulting firm Innovative Marketing with former Philips executive Gerald Calabrese. Palaia eventually became a senior executive with Go-Video in the late 1990s. He left the company in late 2000 to re-enter the consulting business. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
