Long Beach, Calif.
- Epson introduced Monday its latest professional photo printer, which will
leverage six new full, letter-sized packs of Epson Signature papers for optimal
printing results.

The Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Signature
Worthy Edition (shipping now through select photo specialty dealers at a $1,495
suggested retail) is said to offer print results with high color fidelity,
smooth tonal transitions, strong black density and image longevity.

The new Signature
Worthy papers were said to have been designed in collaboration with creative
professionals.

The Epson Stylus
Pro 3880 will produce an extremely wide color gamut with more dramatic blues
and violets and produces "exhibition-quality color and black-and-white output
up to 17- by 22-inch" dimensions, Epson said.

The Epson Stylus
Pro 3880 Signature Worthy Edition includes full letter-sized packages of
Exhibition Fiber, Cold Press Bright, Cold Press Natural, Hot Press Bright and
Hot Press Natural papers, as well as a Signature Worthy Sample Pack featuring
additional photo and fine art papers.

"Epson's Signature
Worthy collection was created to work in harmony with Epson Stylus Pro printers
and ink, and pairing the papers with the award-winning Epson Stylus Pro 3880
gives professionals a unique solution," said Richard Day, Epson America product
manager. "Designed with professional photographers and artists in mind, the
Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Signature Worthy Edition gives creative professionals the
ability to achieve stunning wide format prints and truly recreate their
creative vision on paper."

The Epson Stylus
Pro 3880 uses Epson UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta ink technology, noted for
intense blues and violets, and an advanced MicroPiezo AMC print head with
ink-repelling coating for accurate dot placement.

The compact
printer also features AccuPhoto HD2 Image Technology for smoother color
transitions and highlight and shadow detail.

In addition,
auto-switching Matte and Photo Black inks provide high contrast on glossy,
matte and fine art papers, and advanced Black-and-White Photo Mode produces neutral
or toned black-and-white prints from color or monochrome images.
