Comcast Adds ESPN HD Service

Bristol, Conn. - ESPN announced that Comcast Cable, the nation’s largest cable TV multi system operator, has to carry its ESPN HD channel in all systems currently offering HDTV services, beginning this month.

Comcast said it also plans to offer the channel in additional markets, as they add HD programming tiers.

Comcast now offers HDTV service to 11.5 million customers in Little Rock, AK; Huntsville, Ala.; Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento and Stockton, Calif.; Danbury, Conn.; Fort Myers, Naples, Tampa -Sarasota and Jacksonville, Fla.; Atlanta, Ga.; Chicago, Ill.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Baltimore, Md.; Boston, Mass.; Detroit and Flint, Mich.; Kansas City, Mo.; Central and Northern N.J.; Philadelphia and Harrisburg, Penn.; Nashville and Knoxville, Tenn.; Seattle, Wash.; and Washington, D.C.

Comcast’s HD programming line-up includes local broadcasters, PBS stations, HBO and Showtime as well as Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia and the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore region.
