7/12/2011 02:56:12 PM Eastern

Dallas - The first 4G LTE devices
for AT&T's planned LTE-network launch this summer will include a USB modem
and portable Wi-Fi hot spot.

Both are made by Sierra Wireless
and both to be available on the carrier's web site and in company-owned retail

AT&T previously announced
plans to launch 4G LTE service in five markets this summer and extend it to at
least 15 markets with a population of 70 million by the end of 2011. The first
five are Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.

The USB modem is the AT&T
USBConnect Momentum 4G, which will retail for $49.99 with two-year contract
after $50 mail-in-rebate. The AT&T Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G, which
connects up to five Wi-Fi devices to AT&T's cellular network, will be
available for $69.99 with two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate.

Both feature 4G LTE at 700MHz, 4G
HSPA+ speeds in the carrier's U.S. 850/1900MHz HSPA+ markets with enhanced
backhaul, and HSPA+ operation in international 2.1GHz markets. Both also offer expandable
memory slot that supports MicroSD cards up to 32GB.

The mobile hotspot features a 1.77-inch
display to make setup easier by displaying the Wi-Fi network name and security
key to be input on a Wi-Fi-connected device. Users can also view device and
connection status on the LCD, including battery status, signal strength and
data usage.

The hot spot features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, WPS
(Wi-Fi Protected Setup), a Web UI for settings and advanced features, GPS, and 1800
mAh battery that lasts up to five hours.
