Apple iMacs Revamped

Cupertino, Calif. - Apple today updated its all-in-one iMac line
adding better processors and graphics.

The new 21.5-in and 27-inch iMacs are available with Intel
quad-core i5 and i7 processors, up to 3.4GHz. These are paired with improved AMD
Radeon HD graphics processors.


The 21.5-inch model comes in two configurations. One is equipped
with a 2.5GHz Core i5 quad-core processor, AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics, 500GB
hard drive for $1,199. The second adds a 2.7GHz Core i5 quad-core processor,
AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphics and a 1TB hard drive for $1,499.

The larger screen series is also comprised of two units. One with
the same specs as the higher-end smaller screen model, but with a $1,699 price
tag and the other with a 3.1GHz quad core i5 processor, Radeon HD 6970M
graphics and a 1TB hard drive for $1,999.

Configure to order options include boosting the processor up to the
Intel Core i7 level, 2TB of storage, a 256GB solid state drvie and additional
DDR3 memory.

All are available now through the Apple Store, Apple resellers
and direct from Apple.

The upgrade for all modes includes adding a single Intel Thunderbolt
I/O port to the smaller model and two ports for the 27-inch version.
Thunderbolt enables the connection of high speed devices by using the
technology's 10GB per second, bi-directional data transfer speed.

The iMacs include a built-in FaceTime HD camera and software.

The models come in Apple's aluminum and glass industrial design
and feature Mac OS X Snow Leopard, iLife, iMovie and GarageBand.
