Mounts, Furniture Headline CEDIA Debuts

Accessories manufacturers were out in force at CEDIA Expo here earlier this month, with representatives from the mount and furniture categories in abundance.

Mount maker Chief Manufacturing introduced its Reaction swing-arm mount line for 25-inch to 65-inch flat-panel TVs. The line offers faster and simpler installation with post-installation height adjustment and open wall-plate installation, said the company, and is end-user focused with a “unique” design that allows extreme range of motion.

Chief, based in Savage, Minn., focused on its Cynergy swing-arm mounts for 10-inch to 40-inch TVs. The line includes three-step “fast” installation.

Chief’s Reaction mount line for 26-inch to 65-inch TVs is a system that features the company’s Q-Latch mounting and Rapid-Level hands-free leveling to reduce installation time. The system is compatible with multiple accessories in order to customize any installation.

Peerless Industries gave attendees at CEDIA an exclusive look at its Pull-Out Swivel Wall Mount for 26-inch to 50-inch flat panels. Available at the end of the fourth quarter from the Melrose Park, Ill.-based company, the mount features a design said to be perfect for recessed or standard wall applications in home applications. When mounted flush against a wall, the new unit’s 2-inch profile is fully concealed, while its cable management system hides all wires and cables. It extends up to 10.5 inches and swivels 30 degrees left or right.

Also new at CEDIA from Peerless was a line of flat, tilt, pivot and articulating SmartMount flat-panel mounts and a redesigned Spider universal adapter plate for use with the company’s projector mounts. Spider has a fully preassembled design that requires no set-up and essentially no installation time, said Peerless.

In the furniture category, Bell’O International introduced its Pamari Collection of “rock solid” home theater entertainment furniture. The first two models in the collection feature “durable” polymer-coated top and base-shelf surfaces that will stand up to the punishment of the retail selling floor and everyday living in the home, said Bell’O.

The AV-1044 will accommodate most flat-panel TVs up to 46 inches, and will be available this month for a suggested $199 retail. The AV-1063 will accommodate most flat panels up to 63 inches and up to six or more A/V components and center-channel speaker. Also available in September, suggested retail is $349.

New from Portland, Ore.-based Modular Theater Systems is the company’s second generation of modular A/V room furnishings. Called Modular Media cabinetry, these lifestyle ensembles are intended for dedicated theater rooms, targeting consumers who want “attractive” entertainment centers in multipurpose rooms.

The initial offering, called the Struxure Series, includes nine basic configurations with an array of 15 finishes as well as customization options. It has a selection of drawers, doors, handles, feet, screen mounts and integrated speaker modules. Availability is the fourth quarter, with suggested retail starting at $1,500.
