The “explosive growth” of IoT devices and networked automation systems “creates great demand for Luxul Wireless high-performance networks,” and the acquisition “will enable Legrand to capture this growing market demand,” the company said.
The acquisition will also “allow Legrand's installer customers to ‘own the network’ and ensure the best possible user experience” of the connected systems that they install, Legrand said.
The Luxul brand will continue and will operate as a standalone business within Legrand’s electrical wiring systems division, Luxul marketing VP Clark Roundy told TWICE. “There will be no change to Luxul distribution channels or sales rep organization,” he added. “Legrand and Luxul businesses already share many of the same sales and distributions channels.”
Roundy also said Luxul dealers will continue to purchase Luxul products through the same distributors they always have, and Legrand dealers will access Luxul products through those same channels.
Luxul Wireless is the largest supplier of IP network gear for professionally installed, custom-integration systems for residential and small to medium businesses, Legrand said.
Luxul’s products “will become an essential component of Legrand’s On-Q and Nuvo home systems” but will also support “countless other systems,” added John Selldorff, CEO of Legrand North & Central America.
Nuvo offers wireless multiroom-audio systems for the installer market, and
OnQ offers multiroom audio as well as home networking, intercoms, cameras and lighting-control systems.
