Lansinoh Unveils Smartpump: The First Bluetooth Breast Pump

Many millennial moms will likely file this one under Finally!

Lansinoh Laboratories has introduced the first Bluetooth-enabled breast pump.

The Smartpump, a double electric breast pump, will pair with an accompanying iOS and Android app that tracks and records the date, time and duration of each pumping session, as well as the amount of breastmilk pumped per session.

The app also has the ability to track and chart bottle-feeding sessions, diaper changes and the baby’s growth. An LCD screen on the pump displays the time.

Lansinoh, a manufacturer of breastfeeding products and accessories, said it designed the Smartpump “to help simplify the pumping experience, delivering convenience, comfort, efficiency and performance all in one package.”

It will carry a $199 suggested retail and will come with a tote, cooler bag and bottle-feeding accessories. The Smartpump launches at Babies ‘R’ Us next week, with subsequent launches at Target, Amazon and Buy Buy Baby.
