Polaroid’s New Snap Touch Instant Camera Now Lets You Save Photos

Polaroid showed off its latest instant digital camera at the Photokina 2016 show in Cologne, Germany, and it’s a device that combines instant gratification with the overwhelming desire to share, share, share.

The Polaroid Snap Touch, an upgrade to the Snap, adds a 3.5-inch touchscreen, ups the megapixels to 13 with a CMOS sensor, and adds the ability to record 1080p FullHD video. Unlike the Snap, which instantly prints photo as soon as they’re shot, images and video for the Snap Touch can be stored on a MicroSD card (up to 128GB).

It first debuted at CES 2016 in January as the Snap+, but the company has since changed the name to the Snap Touch.

The camera, which uses Zink Zero Ink printing technology to print 2- by 3-inch prints in less than a minute, also has built-in Bluetooth for use with Polaroid’s mobile app to share and edit images. It comes with a self-timer and mirror for selfies, and has three color modes: color, black and white, and sepia. Consumers can print with or without the Polaroid Classic Border, and the app lets them add filters, digital stickers and other effects prior to printing.

Six colors are offered: pink, black, purple, red, blue and white.

The Snap Touch is being sold by Polaroid licensee C+A Global. It’s slated to ship in October at a $179 suggested retail.
