Microsoft Bags Hit Market

A new name in the notebook computer case market shouldn’t have a problem with brand recognition among consumers.

Samsill has begun shipping two lines of Microsoft-brand cases, with a casual collection aimed at “business casual professionals and their mobile lifestyle” and a business line “for the discriminating professional,” according to Drew Bowers, Samsill’s marketing development manager.

The casual bags, accented with rubberized orange vinyl inside and out, are made of 1680D poly nylon and provide a variety of individual accessories pockets.

The Edge messenger laptop bag (pictured) has protective padded sleeve that holds a notebook PC up to 17 inches with an adjustable divider to secure smaller PCs. An exterior MP3 compartment has a port for headphone cable pass-through. The case has an adjustable Velcro divider for cord and battery storage and a storage panel for digital accessories, cards, pens, keys, etc.

Other features include a front-buckle closure, two interior file pockets, a scratch-free media pocket and front and back outside zipper pockets. It retails for $49.99.

Bags in the professional series have a leather-look vinyl finish and a gray accent stripe, complemented with brushed nickel branding elements.
