Nationwide Expanding Online Buying Program

Updated! Winston-Salem, N.C. — One month after introducing it to its membership, the Nationwide Marketing Group is dramatically expanding its eXchange buying portal.

The intranet-based program, launched at Nationwide’s PrimeTime gathering in March, gives independent dealers easy access to best-selling SKUs from top CE brands, as offered through seven distributor partners including AVAD, CED, Capitol, D&H, DSI Systems and Petra.

Now, five weeks and much positive feedback later, eXchange is doubling its brand roster to nearly 200 badges, and is preparing to add two more distributors to the portal by the end of this summer.

“It was very gratifying to hear from our independents about how much of a game changer this program is going to be for their business model,” said Dean Sottile, the group’s distribution and logistics senior VP, and developer of eXchange. “The daily user count on the site continues to grow, and we are working closely with our distribution partners to bring more exclusive opportunities to drive even more traffic.”

To date, the purchasing platform is providing member dealers with access to over 4,000 CE SKUs. Eventually, the program could encompass a dozen distributors and include additional product categories like appliances and furniture, he told TWICE at PrimeTime.

“We have a long-term vision for the eXchange, and we intend to grow this initiative in even bigger ways,” Sottile said.

In other Nationwide news, Anuva Automation, the Florida-based manufacturer of TiO (Turn it On) brand automation and control systems, has joined the vendor roster of the group’s specialty CE and custom installation division, Specialty Electronics Nationwide (SEN).

The agreement, the partners said, will increase TiO’s product distribution network and allow SEN dealers to enjoy the benefit of discounted volume pricing.

TiO says its system and mobile apps for iOS and Android allow users to “easily create unique environments in every room of their home” with streaming music and lighting and climate control.

“We welcome the TiO brand of home and business automation products as a new and valued vendor partner to the Specialty Electronics Nationwide roster of manufacturers,” said recently appointed SEN director Hank Alexander. “We are very impressed with TiO’s elegance, simplicity and powerful capabilities and believe these products present a great opportunity for our members.”
