First Look: BrandSource’s New Video Content Service

BrandSource, the $14 billion buying group, is rolling out AVB/TV, a new streaming video service first announced at its annual summer convention last month.

Akin to a long-running video production program at rival Nationwide Marketing Group, AVB/TV will provide member dealers with high-definition webisodes, mini documentaries, and other video content to help engage customers both online and in stores.

For showrooms, the content is distributed by a low-cost Apple TV set-top box to an unlimited number of TV displays for a flat, low monthly fee. (Attendees at the August convention received complimentary Apple TVs.)

The video service, named after BrandSource’s official appellation, Associated Volume Buyers, was described as “a bold step forward” for the group, and “an exciting new method of keeping both members and customers informed of the thrilling new changes in our industry.”
