The headphones category certainly doesn’t get any less crowded once the pricing climbs. If anything, the competition is fiercer as the price tags bring out an even more discerning consumer.
Polk’s UltraFocus 8000 is described on the company’s website as “the last pair of headphones you’ll ever need.”
The over-ear headphones are meant to provide a solid listening experience in any environment. The active noise canceling (ANC) employs the company’s Optimized Active Tuning technology, with smart sensing of exterior noise levels that changes the frequency response of the headphones to tune out disruptions. The ANC technology is capable of up to 15dB of extraneous noise cancellation, according to the company.
The company also took comfort and durability in mind when designing the UltraFocus 8000 headphones. They feature Polk’s trademarked SecureFit design that is meant to make the headphones feel “invisible,” as well as cushioned ear pads and “control Braille” tactile indicators on the on-ear Apple- compatible mic and control buttons. A 55-inch detachable cable has StrainGuard Kevlar core technology and computer-designed transitional connections, Polk said, meant to eliminate cable failure.
A Push-To-Hear Ambient Control feature mutes headphone audio and amplifies exterior human voice frequencies, allowing users to interact without needing to remove the headphones.
