Mohu’s AirWave employs an antenna, pixel-reduction technology and an over-the-air (OTA) tuner, using Wi-Fi and the Mohu TV app to access streaming-video devices. It can work with Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Stick, Apple TV and Chromecast devices.

While Nuvyyo’s Tablo Live requires an external antenna, it uses Wi-Fi to stream OTA content from its single tuner to streaming boxes, iOS and Android devices, and a web-based browser via free TV guide app. It’s slated to ship this spring for $99.99.

The AirTV Player ($99.99) is an Android TV-based streaming box for access to both preloaded apps and the apps available in the Google Play Store. It is capable of streaming in 4K, and adding the optional OTA AirTV Adapter ($39.99) provides access to OTA channels and a fully integrated program guide. AirTV is a Dish subsidiary.

The Roku Ultra is the company’s top-of-the-line streaming device, offering 4K with high dynamic range (HDR), voice searching and a remote finding feature. It has a $129 suggested retail.

The Roku Express+ aims for simplicity and a low price tag ($39.99). Its most differentiating feature is its ability to work with a non-smart TV by connecting to a composite port. The device can also plug into a TV’s HDMI port, comes with an IR remote with channel shortcut buttons, and features Dolby Audio pass-through via HDMI. Unlike the Ultra, this device doesn’t stream 4K.

Amazon’s Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote, the retailer’s newest-generation streaming stick, is priced at just $39.99. In addition to voice searching and control, consumers can access many of Alexa’s skills, including ordering pizza, playing music and answering questions.

Voxx International’s Terk Omni, introduced at CES 2017, is an amplified, multi-directional HDTV antenna. It features the company’s DualBoost dual-stage amplifier technology and 360-degree reception. Suggested retail is $59.99.

Google’s Chromecast Ultra dongle offers 4K streaming with HDR for just $69.99. In addition to Wi-Fi streaming, it also features a built-in Ethernet adapter for a wired, faster connection. The Ultra does not, however, come with a remote control, so consumers must use their phones. Chromecast users can stream from compatible portable devices and laptops, and they can screen mirror with their phones and tablets.

In addition to 4K streaming with HDR, Google Casting and Android TV 6.0, the Xiaomi Mi Box can be paired with a the Mi Game Controller for gaming with vibration feedback. Suggested retail for the Mi Box is $69.99. A voice remote is included.
