New York — Pyle launched an in-dash DVD receiver with detachable 10.1-inch touchscreen display.
The $284-suggested PLD10BT joins multiple Pyle DVD receivers with fixed and motorized 7-inch touchscreens, including a single-DIN model with detachable 7-inch screen.
The DIN-size PLD10BT features a motorized panel that emerges from the dash, enabling users to attach an included 16:9 LCD panel with1,024 by 600 resolution and 400-nits brightness. Head-unit functions can be controlled from the touchscreen, which also displays DVD video, video from sources connected via an auxiliary video input, and video from an optional backup camera. The screen’s viewing angle is adjustable.
The head unit also has stereo Bluetooth to stream music wirelessly from mobile devices. Bluetooth AVRCP lets users control track up/down and play/pause when streaming music from a smartphone.
An SD/MMC memory-card slot and a USB port enable playback of music stored on memory cards and USB sticks.
The DVD receiver is compatible with VCD discs, MPEG4 and DIVX video files, MP3 music files and CD-R/RW discs.
