World4Solar Supports Veterans in Making America More Energy Resilient with a Solar Microgrid System for EV charging, Reducing Electricity Bills and more!

World4Solar, an industry leader in the development of autonomous solar power plants, is proud to support veterans in their post-service efforts to help local communities become energy independent and lead the way to a more sustainable, resilient future.

A Lighthouse Project for the American Legion Post 46 and Culver City, CA Community

World4Solar (W4S) is pleased to announce the donation of a W4S HelioWing Solar Power System and its installation to benefit both veterans at the American Legion Post 46 and the community of Culver City, California, to establish a community-oriented microgrid energy system. The project, valued at around $80,000, will serve as an island solution for resilient electric vehicle (EV) charging, with plans to develop into a grid-tied system in a three-phase course that will reduce the utility costs of the American Legion Post through peak shaving and net metering.

World4Solar, an industry leader in the development of autonomous solar power plants, is proud to support veterans in their post-service efforts to help local communities become energy independent and lead the way to a more sustainable, resilient future.

Nick Boateng, US Army veteran and W4S Director of Solution Management, is an active supporter of US military veterans at the American Legion Post 46. Nick has helped bring this project to life. World4Solar donated the solar power system, and Nick’s time. The company sees the American Legion Post 46 project as a win-win opportunity and offers US vets and the community a cost-saving solar energy solution. The Culver City installation will also serve as an active grid for W4S to perform field demonstrations, real-world environment measurements, usage costs, tests and more.

The first phase, that just completed, was the setup of off-grid EV charging by installing the World4Solar HelioWing 5 Solar Power System with 7.38kW production peak, an integrated Solis 11.4kW inverter and a W4S 36kWh high voltage battery. Phase II will be the interconnection of the American Legion building for electricity bill savings and emergency backup power. The final Phase III is the monetization of EV charging and TV screen display advertising to help with fundraising at the American Legion. This project marks the start of a fruitful cooperation between the fast-growing company and U.S. veteran organizations.

The project is also a milestone in the cooperation efforts between World4Solar and Solar Price Discovery, which recently qualified as a certified integrator for W4S systems to serve as an important partner for the southern California region. Together with Ziv Mesika of the Principle Building Group, the team led this project through the permitting, foundation and installation phases.

“From our first conversations, we envisioned creating an island solution that could one day seamlessly connect to the meter, delivering bill reduction, peak shaving, and resiliency EV charging services to the local community. It’s a project that doesn’t just serve today’s needs, but builds a foundation for sustainable, reliable energy for tomorrow,” says Nick Boateng, World4Solar. “Proud moments often come with strong partnerships and a shared vision. None of this would be possible without the leadership, support, and resilience of the veterans who continue to serve our communities in so many meaningful ways. They are the heartbeat of this initiative, and we are proud to work alongside these veterans. Your service to this country, and now your service to energy independence, continues to inspire us all.”
