In 2013 Virginia was instrumental in taking the lead in fundraisers at Cory’s New Jersey operations in support of WomenRising, a Hudson County, NJ community based organization for women governed and managed by women to assist women and their families to achieve self-sufficiency in a safe environment; to live productive lives through social services, economic development and advocacy services.
Virginia, along with the Cory Sunshine Committee has successfully held several events throughout the years supporting WomenRising campaigns like, Back to School Supplies for the children at the shelter and holiday gifts for the women residing at the shelter. However, and most importantly, Virginia and Cory’s VP, Support Services Johanna Soto participate in the educational programs for the women, giving them advise and tips on achieving success in today’s job market.
