TCL Brings Back Popular 4K Football Challenge to Kick Off the New Season

Pro Athletes Jarvis Landry and Melvin Gordon Score 4K HDR TVs for Fans and Charitable Causes Each Week

CORONA, Calif. – September 6, 2017 – TCL®, one of the world’s largest and America’s fastest-growing television brand, today announced it will once again be giving away 4K TVs each week of the 2017 football season. The new TCL 4K Football Challenge will feature Los Angeles running back Melvin Gordon III and Miami wide receiver Jarvis “Juice” Landry helping passionate fans and charity programs win 4K HDR TVs by giving their best performance in the games.

Starting today, fans who visit www.TCL4KFootball.com can select either Jarvis or Melvin to play for them and two winners will be chosen every week – one from team Jarvis and one from team Melvin – to face each other in a head-to-head challenge, for a total of 34 winners.  The player who ends the week with the most Fantasy Football points will secure a 55” 4K HDR TCL Roku TV™ for the contestant who chose them, while their competitor will receive a 43” 4K HDR TCL Roku TV.

“Our new 4K HDR TCL Roku TVs are perfect for gameday, offering sports fans a stunning picture and the best smart TV platform for easy access to all the pro and college football games you’re looking for,” said Chris Larson, senior vice president, TCL. “We wanted to give fans a fun yet simple way to upgrade their football viewing experience with the 4K Football Challenge and we’re excited to partner up with Melvin for the first time, and of course, continue working with Jarvis. With an opportunity to enter each week, you have a chance to win an award-winning TCL TV to watch all the big games on no matter which player you choose.”

A second round draft pick in 2014, “Juice” Landry has quickly established himself as one of the best wide receivers in football, setting the league record for most receptions in the first two seasons of a career. His prolific receiving numbers can now help fans and his charity program – the annual Jarvis Landry GiveBack, where he donates backpacks filled with school supplies to disadvantaged youth from his hometown community in Louisiana – win big.

“I’m thrilled to be chosen for the TCL 4K Football Challenge again and use my success in the game to support the work I do off the field,” said Landry. “I love giving people a chance to win TCL TVs every week I play. Last season was a solid year for me so both my fans and my GiveBack program benefited in a huge way.”

A Doak Walker Award recipient and Heisman Trophy finalist in college, Gordon was drafted 15th overall in the first round of 2015. Gordon has quickly become one of the best young running backs in football, being named to the Pro Bowl after the 2016 NFL season. Not only is he playing for the fans, he is also playing for his charity event – the Melvin Gordon Football Camp. With a successful first annual turnout of more than 200 kids, the Los Angeles running back hopes to grow the effort with more pro talent and a broader curriculum.

“I’m honored to be part of the TCL 4K Football Challenge for the first time. It provides a chance for my fans and the youth at my camp to win when I win,” said Gordon. “I look forward to the challenge and by the end of the season I hope a lot of my lucky fans will be watching my games on a brand new 55” TCL TV this season.”

TCL’s 4K HDR Roku TVs provide football fans with more options to catch all their favorite teams from home with special access to subscription services that provide out-of-market games, live and on-demand streaming through a cable or satellite provider, as well as free channels with sports highlights and live games for those without cable subscriptions. While some TV brands have decided to remove the tuner despite the value of accessing free broadcast TV, TCL TVs were designed with the cord cutter in mind so they include a TV tuner and offer access to popular network TV and live sports in high definition over the air at no additional cost*.

In addition to the premium football lineup and content schedule, the award-winning 4K TCL Roku TV puts entertainment favorites in one place, allowing seamless access to broadcast TV, more than 5,000 streaming channels with 500,000 streaming movies and TV episodes, your gaming console, and other devices all from your personalized home screen.
