SKAA and Spectre Media Group’s Glenn Fricker Team Up for Contests

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada, Aug. 1, 2018 – Spectre Media Group’s Glenn Fricker is that guy on YouTube who screams a lot! He has built his channel on the principle of passionately telling his viewers the TRUTH, regardless of who might get offended. Glenn has an immense following (approaching 270,000 YouTube subscribers and nearly 50 million views) and knows his stuff when it comes to recording hard rock and metal.

SKAA also has a hard core, dedicated following, and staying true to its motto “Share Audio Anywhere”, will be giving away free partner products through multiple contests over the coming months.

Eleven Engineering, Inc. (www.elevenengineering.com), a market leader in semiconductor products for wireless audio for home theater, multi-room, portable, professional, 12 Volt (car, truck, motorcycle, power sports, marine) and gaming applications, is proud to announce that it has partnered with Glenn Fricker for this promotion which kicks off August 2 at 9:00 PM EDT on one of Glenn’s popular live streams. During this live stream, Fricker will mercilessly review dozens of real metal song mixes. At the end he will award a prize of SKAA-based speakers to the creator of the best mix of the night. What’s more, viewers of the live stream will get a chance to enter to win SKAA products too…just for watching! Additional contests are planned throughout the summer of 2018. Some of the participating SKAA-licensed brands include Ryobi, Wet Sounds, and Dillinger Labs…with more are on the way.

“I love making records, and after doing it for nearly 20 years, I want to pass on what I’ve learned,” said Fricker, who is also an engineer at Spectre Sound Studios based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. “My website and blog feature tutorials on how to record guitar, bass, real drums, and vocals. There are reviews and demos of tube amps, amp sims, drums, mics, preamps, outboard gear, and plugin effects. Everything you’ve wanted to learn about recording Hard Rock and Heavy Metal can be found there. And, most importantly, we have a lot of fun doing it. I’m a big fan of well-executed audio products which are inexpensive enough to be accessible to the average guy recording at home, and that’s where SKAA comes in when you need to go wireless.”

Although SKAA is primarily described as a consumer wireless audio solution, it has its merits in pro audio situations, as well. As such, Fricker said he uses SKAA in the studio because it solves several common problems.

“Let’s say you are in the studio, and you can’t concentrate because random band mates and their girlfriends/boyfriends are in the control room with you so they can hear what’s going on”, explained Fricker. “Now I can send them to the picnic table out in the back yard and send the mix to them through Ryobi Score SKAA-compatible speakers. Now they aren’t literally breathing down my neck but can still be part of it all.”

One studio problem solved. Here’s another. “A lot of people don’t realize that engineers and producers like to listen to their mix on a typical car stereo as a sanity check,” Fricker continued. “Now you don’t have to burn a CD every time you walk out to the car. You can send the mix directly to your car with SKAA instead. Less hassle and second problem solved. Very cool stuff intended to make a pro’s life easier in a number of ways, especially versus traditional wireless audio.”

And here’s one more. “Engineers, producers and artists who are on the road a lot will like the SKAA headphones from Dillinger Labs,” explained Fricker. “You can do a lot of editing on the road with these, and if you have several people working together on a song, no problem since you can run up to four wireless headphones at the same time. Now I don’t EVER do a FINAL mix on ANY headphones, but for editing and preliminary mixes, you can’t beat SKAA headphones if you’re a laptop warrior.”

According to Rex Whitehead, Eleven Engineering Executive Vice President – Sales & Marketing., SKAA has a myriad of unique and non-traditional wireless audio applications that include Fricker’s examples. “Add these applications to the fact that SKAA is creating a shift in the wireless audio world that has been dominated by Wifi,” Whitehead explained. “When you peel back the layers, traditional Wifi is subpar, or even non-existent, in seven key areas of modern wireless HiFi audio. We break it down on our YouTube channel. Wifi audio is more of a detriment rather than a benefit to most consumers, and is virtually NEVER used in a studio. Since Glenn is so nuts about smart audio products which deliver great value, teaming up made perfect sense.”

SKAA is the new wireless HiFi audio standard developed by Eleven Engineering, Inc. SKAA transmitters work with iOS & Android mobile devices, Mac & Windows computers, televisions, and just about any product with a line output or a headphone jack. You can even feed SKAA speakers and headphones from any studio recording interface with a Toslink (digital optical) or S/PDIF output. Most of SKAA is also available as a built-in technology not requiring an external transmitter in purpose-designed partner products, which are featured at SKAA.com. In environments laden with heavy Wifi and Bluetooth traffic, SKAA navigates through these hostile environments with best-in-class reliability. SKAA also allows for uninterrupted audio signals that are delivered with the highest sound quality to all speakers without the latency that is inherent in other wireless solutions.

“Glenn is the leading YouTuber in his category and obviously quite the charismatic personality,” Whitehead concluded. “We are thrilled to team up with him on this project showing uses of SKAA outside of traditional applications. Additionally, we are looking forward to giving away SKAA-enabled products to the loyal followers of SKAA and our licensed partners.”
