Revel by HARMAN Introduces XC Series Extreme Climate Outdoor Loudspeakers at CEDIA 2016

Two new loudspeakers bring installer-friendly features and Revel’s award-winning sound quality to harsh, outdoor environments.

DALLAS, Texas — HARMAN’s Revel today announced the introduction of the M55XC and M80XC Extreme Climate Outdoor Loudspeakers, two competitively-priced models specifically engineered and rigorously tested to perform to Revel’s exacting standards in any location that is hot, cold, damp, humid or wet. The XC series is perfect for outdoor locations including under eaves, around decks, patios, and screened porches, and hidden in trees and landscaping. They can also be used for indoor locations such as showers and saunas, or gymnasiums. Both models are resistant to corrosion from salt water and can be deployed in marine applications such as on docks and beachfront properties and even high-end yachts.

The Revel M55XC and M80XC Outdoor Loudspeakers deliver the superior acoustics for which Revel is renowned and bring that award-winning sound to more extreme climates. Both models are available in either black or white finish and feature 1-inch Aluminum tweeters with Acoustic Lens waveguides for optimum coverage and integration with the woofers. The M55XC utilizes a 5-1/2-inch Carbon-infused Polypropylene cone woofer while the M80XC uses a more powerful 8-inch Aluminum cone woofer. Both feature sealed polymer enclosures, weather-coated aluminum grilles, InvisiBall® mounting systems, stainless steel screw terminal connectors, and input terminal weather protection covers. These loudspeakers have the durability and longevity to optimally perform in harsh environments and the built-in 70V / 100V transformer with 8-ohm bypass allows for increased flexibility for large-scale installations. And because the XC Series speakers are part of the Revel family, they are subjected to the same double-blind listening tests and decades of research that affirms Revel’s acoustic superiority.

“The M55XC and M80XC are perfect for the music lover who’s looking for an outdoor entertainment system that provides the best acoustic experience possible without sacrificing durability,” said Jim Garrett, Director of Marketing and Product Management, HARMAN. “In conjunction with the C363XC and C383XC loudspeakers introduced last year and the three new landscape speakers also being introduced today, our Extreme Climate portfolio of loudspeakers has grown to seven models offering a comprehensive solution of great-sounding products for the outdoor audio market.”

The XC Series outdoor loudspeakers are a part of Revel’s extensive architectural loudspeakers range, all of which are timbre-matched to the award-winning component loudspeakers in the Concerta2, Performa3, and Ultima2 series. Together, these products provide comprehensive solutions for whole-house music and home theater solutions.

The Revel XC Series outdoor loudspeakers will be available first quarter 2017 with expected pricing of $600/pair for the M55XC and $900/pair for the M80XC.
