Distributor members start second quarter of 2016 strong with expanded offerings and locations for dealers as the smart home segment continues to grow
Pittsburgh, PA – March 30, 2016 – Following an exhibition at ISC West 2016 in Las Vegas, PowerHouse Alliance distributor members will execute their respective training schedules for April with a widespread emphasis on home automation and control. Dealers will have access to insider tips on how to identify opportunities within the rapidly growing smart home space and will also get valuable face-time with manufacturer representatives at a variety of education sessions.
Member Electronic Custom Distributors Inc. (ECD) will kick off the month with Clare Controls trainings at all three of their Texas locations. The team will start at their Houston headquarters on April 5 with a half-day session before moving on to Austin, Texas on April 6 and Dallas on April 7. Fellow PHA member Consumer Electronics Distributors (CED) will also give dealers a closer look at the Clare Controls hub and configuration software during a basic training session on April 19 at their Northbrook, IL location.
“The smart home space is constantly evolving, which can make it difficult for dealers to stay on top of the trends and products consumers are demanding at any given time,” said Dennis Holzer, executive director of the PowerHouse Alliance. “As a group, we want our collective dealer network to understand and experience these new products through our lineup of training sessions so they can turn around and leverage this category for new business opportunities with their customer base.”
To continue the spotlight on home automation, members Volutone, MRI, Sierra Select, Mountain West and ECD will all host URC-focused training sessions throughout the month. Volutone is encouraging their dealers to attend free URC live training sessions held at the Atrium Hotel in Irvine, CA April 5-7. Later in the month, MRI will host a three-day URC Total Control Certification training series in Natick, MA. From April 19-21, dealers from across the northeast will have the opportunity to learn the basics of Total Control and advance all the way to mastering automation and programming techniques. During those same dates, member ECD will also put on a URC Total Control training series at their Dallas, TX location.
Sierra Select, who represents the Alliance in northern California and Nevada will hold a URC CCP training session at their North Highlands, CA location on Tuesday, April 19. To wrap the URC trainings for the Alliance in April, Mountain West Distributors will host a URC Total Control Training day at their Denver, CO location on April 26 to give their dealers an introduction to the product and networking in general.
As the first quarter of 2016 comes to close, the Alliance is continuing to expand into new territories and improve their facilities for dealers. Member Davis Distribution Systems recently opened the doors to their new Indianapolis warehouse and will celebrate with an all-day grand opening party April 9. Their local dealers are invited to join their team and factory representatives from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a pig roast, live entertainment and plenty of prizes. Volutone will also be celebrating this spring as they complete the expansion on their Irvine, CA location. On April 29 they are inviting dealers to explore their new larger capacity training room, dealer conference room, expanded will call and deeper stock on in-demand products.
