Pittsburgh, PA – Kicking off April, PowerHouse Alliance members will showcase their diverse skill set with a wide variety of dealer trainings and new events, priming for a productive Q2.
Last month, PowerHouse Alliance and CEDIA announced a partnership specifically through PHA member, Volutone, offering a series of residential networking training sessions throughout the distributor’s territory. Part One of the workshop kicked off in mid-March and continues on April 2, in Las Vegas. Part one training consists of two courses: IP for Technicians and Wireless Network Technologies. These workshops are part of the CEDIA pathway to mastering the network and will help participants prepare for CEDIA’s residential networking specialist certification exam.
“We are honored to serve such an integral role in the partnership between CEDIA and PowerHouse to offer these in-demand training sessions,” said Trevor Hansen, Vice President at Volutone. “This series of workshops at Volutone locations will give dealers the opportunity to further their necessary networking product knowledge and sharpen the skills they will need to become a CEDIA Residential Networking Specialist.”
Portland, Oregon based Electrical Distributing Inc., (EDI) is also entering new territory this coming month and will be participating in the 3rd Annual Pacific Northwest Consumer Electronics Expo on April 7-8 in Bellevue, Washington. As one of just three distributors participating, EDI will be offering exclusive show discounts to the over 400 anticipated dealers in attendance. The 2- day event also features a series of intense training sessions from in-demand manufacturers.
“This show allows dealers that could not attend CES the chance to see the latest in home audio, custom audio, and 12-volt products, all conveniently in one place. We’re anticipating 125+ manufacturers and 400+ dealers from Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and even Canada,” said Marty Cronin, president of EDI. “Alongside two days of intense training, dealers will also have access to exclusive show specials, more competitive than what was available at CES. Better yet, dealers that take advantage of EDI’s show specials will be eligible to win an Ultra High Definition TV.”
Sustained Nationwide Training
Members are also continuing to execute a unified training slate, consisting of additional opportunities for dealers to stay abreast of the ever-evolving home control and automation landscape. Ultimate Integration, Volutone and ECD are all hosting URC Total Control or CCP training sessions at a variety of locations throughout the month of April. Ultimate Integration’s sessions are up first, starting April 1 and 2 in Clifton, NJ. The distributor will also host two additional Total Control trainings the following week on April 8 and 9 at their Hauppauge, NY location.
For dealers in the south, ECD will start their URC CCP trainings for the month at their Houston location on April 21 and move on to Austin and Dallas the following two days. Volutone will close out the URC trainings for the month with several 2-day sessions happening across their territory starting April 20 in Simi Valley, CA and San Diego, CA. They’ll move along to Van Nuys, CA and Ontario, CA on April 22, Cerritos, CA on the 27, and wrap up in Las Vegas and Irvine, CA on Wednesday, April 29.
Integrators looking for lighting control trainings can visit both MRI and Volutone, who will be hosting Lutron sessions throughout the second week of April. MRI’s session will take place in Marlborough, MA on April 7 and Volutone will host back to back sessions in Ontario, CA and Las Vegas on April 8 and 9.
