More Popcorn Needed as BenQ Brings Cinematic Quality Into the Home

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Oct. 14, 2015 — BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned provider of visual display solutions and the No. 1-selling projector brand powered by TI DLP(R) technology in The Americas(1), today introduced its new line of home theater projectors: the HT2050, HT3050, and HT4050. By meeting the Rec. 709 HDTV Standard*, the new lineup produces a more authentic cinematic experience for today’s home theater setups, while combining incredible installation flexibility and design-conscious aesthetics — resulting in revolutionary devices that let home users enjoy a quality experience at a fraction of the cost of other products in their class.

“Our new HT series marks a turning point in home theater technology,” said J.Y. Hu, Vice President, Business Line Management at BenQ America Corp. “By equipping our better and best projectors with realistic Rec. 709 high-definition color reproduction, viewers experience an entirely new sense of content immersion. When adding flexible setup options such as lens shift, side projection, short-throw technology, and full HD wireless connectivity, the HT series presents a value proposition that reshapes our perception of home entertainment.”

Designed to bring the big screen experience into the living room, the projectors leverage the Rec. 709 HDTV standard (*only the HT3050 and HT4050) to accurately reproduce Cinematic Color right out of the box, no calibration needed. The projectors deliver the high-definition color performance that was originally envisioned by the filmmaker, bringing Hollywood movie magic home. Utilizing BenQ’s six-segment color wheel, the projectors produce an incredibly realistic range and color depth using both a customized coating index and precise calculation of different color segment angles — further boosting image quality to achieve truly captivating, lifelike color performance for any projected content. With BenQ’s exclusive CinemaMaster(TM) advanced audio and video processing suite — including motion, color, pixel, and flesh tone enhancing technologies — even the most demanding home cinema enthusiast will be blown away by the projectors’ performance.

With stunning full HD 1080p resolution; perfectly balanced color; sharp, crystal-clear imaging; and crisp shadow details thanks to an all-new premium glass optical system, all models elevate the home theater experience to an entirely new level. To speed up the installation process, the HT line provides short throw capabilities by enabling a 100-inch viewing area at only eight feet from the screen, in addition to big zoom capabilities, vertical lens shifting to easily shift images up or down, and horizontal placement possibilities (HT4050) for flat adjustments. The HT3050 and HT4050 also feature side projection via 2D keystone to free up valuable space within the home. For greater installation flexibility, the new product family also features an optional wireless kit, allowing users to stream uncompressed full HD1080p content, including 3D movies, directly to the projectors. With antennas extending up to 100 feet, the system seamlessly transmits through walls while embedded Dynamic Frequency Selection technology compensates for signal loss by automatically switching between available channels.

Made to match any contemporary décor, the revolutionary series combines gold and silver contours with sleek curves to provide users with elegantly styled devices. Featuring whisper quiet technology, the HT2050 and HT3050 come equipped with a newly enhanced fan and airflow system that reduces the projectors’ background noise to just 27 dBA when running in BenQ’s SmartEco(TM) energy-saving mode. Rounding off the entertainment experience, the projectors come equipped with CinemaMaster audio, powered by Maxx-Audio technology, with a 10-W speaker system that delivers more immersive sound. All models are ISFccc-certified by the Imaging Science Foundation(R) (ISF(R)), enabling viewers to enjoy a professionally calibrated picture with two optimized modes — ISF Day and ISF Night.

The integrator community will get a firsthand look at BenQ’s home theater projectors at CEDIA EXPO 2015, taking place from Oct. 14-17 in Dallas at partner booths, Vutec Corporation booth 3312 and Capitol Sales booth 5732.

Available now, just in time for the holiday season, the HT2050, HT3050, and HT4050 retail at $1,199, $1,399, and $1,999, respectively. More information about BenQ’s full line of products is available at
