MED CHARTER MEMBER ROSTER

Laguna Niguel, CA:  April 6, 2015 – MED, the Mobile Electronics Distributor Merchandising Alliance has announced its Charter Member Roster.

The MED is holding its Charter Meeting at the DFW DoubleTree Irving North on May 7, 2015.  “Registered for the MED Charter Meeting as of April 5, 2015”, explained Ray Windsor, “are 15 people representing 9 different distributors, covering 16 of the traditional 22 EIA territories.”  This is the list of the distributors registered to date, and their respective territories:

Advanced Marketing, S. California;  Custom Plus Distributing, N. California, and OR, WA and AK;  Mountain West Distributing, MT, ID, WY,UT, CO and AZ, NM ;  AM Distributors, ND, SD, MN, W. WI and N. IL, E.WI;  Pioneer Music, NE, IA, KS, MO;  P&E Distributors, TN, MS, AL, GA;  Ultimate Marketing, NC, SC and FL;  MRI, ME, VT, NH, CT, MA, RI and Upstate NY;  Davis Distributing. WV, W. PA, OH and IN, KY.

The MED claims to be engaged in discussion with several additional distributors that when concluded will create coverage of just about every territory in the United States.  Windsor suggested, “The MED strategy is that MED membership consists of regional distributors who are similar in their approach to market in terms of categories, vendors and methods.  There are a lot of terrific distributors in this business and certainly the MED recognizes that fact.  It is however of strategic importance that the ‘fit’ is near perfect.  This MED Charter Roster does not represent the largest or most aggressive or oldest or most degreed set of folks, BUT it’s the foundation of a very cohesive and capable group of business people”.   Kevin Holder from Ultimate Marketing added, “We are confident that we can help develop a business platform that strengthens the distributor-vendor relation and distributor-retailer relationship for years to come”.

The MED Charter Meeting will be attended by distributors only.  It is expected that a MED meeting including vendors and distributors will be held in late summer.  This Charter Meeting is set to include a jam-packed agenda.  Starting with a review of, and agreement upon the MED Mission Statement and By Laws.  MED distributors will set the standards by which the MED will operate.  Distributors will define among other issues, the core product categories, strategies for pursuing new categories, vendor priorities and invitation strategy, code of conduct for MED distributors, immediate MED action priorities and mid-term issues to be pursued by MED.

Launched in late December 2014 the MED is focused equally on strengthening the business relationship between distributor and vendor as well as defining, creating, sharing and implementing best practices in the distributor channel.  Adding value to the business of delivering products and services to market is the MED’s purpose and the Charter MED Distributors are quite anxious to launch activities in this direction.

MED is the independent alliance seeking to improve the business circumstances of distributors, vendors and retailers.  For more information, MED Principal Ray Windsor can be reached at [email protected] or 949-228-2153.
